Blown away!

Yesterday the team at Lincroft Portraits attended an amazing one-day course on portrait photography, hosted by talented photographer Mark Cleghorn and his phototraining4u business.

The course covered everything from marketing to posing, lighting to post editing and has given us all so many new ideas and a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to get them out there. Already we have used the Photoshop techniques taught to give our vintage boudoir test shoot photos a little extra 'wow' factor, they look amazing (sneak preview will be uploaded here this week)

And we saw some fabulous trends and new products from our brilliant supplier Loxley Colour, which we can't wait to introduce.

We also came away with a useful book, DVD and we have signed up for phototraining4u membership for constant access to useful ideas, tutorials as well as some brilliant Photoshop plug-ins software.

So, expect more big things from us very soon!

Exciting news!

Lincroft Portraits HQ is a hive of activity and excitement this week with news that photographer Andrea Barrett has won a merit in the first round of the MPA national photography awards (having already won the Yorkshire Classical Photographer of the Year title a few months ago with a stunning pregnancy portrait) and also a merit in the Mario Acerboni wedding section. Huge congratulations to her. We have yet to find out which photos have been awarded this special status, but I will update you as soon as we know.

In other exciting news the transformation of the customer lounge is complete, hurrah! Well, all that's needed now is for the print order to come back so we can get some of our stunning portrait, boudoir and wedding images on the walls. Here are photos taken earlier today.

The large framed photo on the right (above) was a winner last year and really suits the decor I think - just need to properly hang it now as well as some of our other award-winning and favourite images. I do love the classic-style furniture and the mix of black, brown, silver and a hint of gold too. The flooring is just fab. We have re-arranged the furniture to make the room look and flow much better. And for the comfort of guests we also have a brand new fancy pants coffee machine, woooooo!

Hope you like - we would love to hear your feedback either in the comments box or on our Facebook page.
